Cumbrian Young Writers Awards
Lakeland Book of the Year are collaborating with Words by the Water to launch a Cumbrian Young Writers Award. The theme is ‘Lost’ and young writers up to the age of 18 are eligible. There are cash prizes. Poems and stories to be sent to info@lakelandbookoftheyear.co.uk
Usborne author Sophie Anderson will be talking about her work and how she became a writer, and publisher David Felton will talk about how books get into print. Prize-winners will have their work read out and will meet the authors.
Sophie Anderson is an award-winning writer and story-teller whose books include The Snow Girl, The Last Bear and The Castle of Tangled Magic.
David Felton is the director of Inspired by Lakeland – a recipient of the Holyer An Gof Children's Book of the Year award.
