Festival 2025
The Words by the Water Festival of Words and Ideas returned to Theatre by the Lake on Wednesday June 5th 2024 and events were held for five days in a festival led by Leah Varnell (ex Ways with Words) in partnership with Lucy and Gwenda Matthews, owners and directors of Bookends Keswick.
We extend our thanks and gratitude for all support for this year's festival events - our audiences, authors, writers and performers, chairpeople, volunteer drivers, Bookends staff, Darren at Keirweb for creating a seamless website, Catherine at Appletrees, Ian at Crow Park Hotel, Pete at Ravenstone Lodge, the Merienda team and above all the magnificent efforts of all the team at Theatre by the Lake. Special thanks go to the co-President of Words by the Water, Marie-Elsa Bragg for her ongoing practical support.
