Tickets booked up to seven days in advance can be posted out for a charge of £1.50. Tickets booked within seven days of the performance date will be held for collection from the Box Office. Cash, credit or debit cards (Mastercard/Visa/Switch/Delta/Electron/Maestro) are accepted or cheques made payable to Theatre by the Lake. Terms & Conditions

The right is reserved to substitute speakers and vary the advertised programme at late notice if necessary (eg if an author is ill and can’t attend the festival). All information is correct at the time of going to press.

Refund and Exchange Policy
If you inform the Theatre by the Lake box office at least 48 hours before an event, we will exchange your tickets for another Words by the Water event (subject to availability). There is a £1.50 fee per ticket for this service. If an event is cancelled you can exchange your ticket for another event at this year's festival – subject to availability. There will be no charge for this. If you don’t wish to exchange you are entitled to a refund of the ticket’s value. (NB for day tickets, this will be a proportion of the ticket value)

Getting to Theatre by the Lake

On Foot
The Theatre is a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Keswick (follow signs for the lake).

Driving
Head to Lake Road and Lakeside Car Park. Brown tourist road signs in town will direct you to the Theatre. If the car park is full or closed go to www.keswick.org/visitor-information/car-parks for other options.

Public Transport
The nearest train station on the West Coast main line is Penrith, about 17 miles from Keswick. The X5 bus service runs in both directions from Penrith to Keswick every day. Evening services are limited.

Car Park
Lakeside Car Park is owned and operated by Cumberland Council and offers pay and display parking. It is right next to the theatre, and gets very busy, so do allow plenty of time for parking. Parking after 7pm costs £1.10.
