Theatre by the Lake
Theatre by the Lake has been producing theatre in Cumbria since 1999 when it replaced the much- loved Blue Box Century Theatre.
Famed for its unique and beautiful lakeside setting near the shores of Derwentwater, the Theatre sits amid the northern fells of the Lake District, a designated World Heritage Site and is a ten minute walk from the centre of the bustling town of Keswick. Across the road from the theatre is Crow Park from where you can get 360° panoramic views of the mountains that surround the town, along with stunning views down the lake towards the exceptionally beautiful Borrowdale valley.
Simon Stephens, Executive Director of Theatre by the Lake says ”Words by the Water has always been an extremely popular event at the theatre and we know audiences have missed it in recent years. We’re really excited for the return of the festival and to be hosting a truly wonderful celebration of literature once again here at Theatre by the Lake.”
