This memoir about motherhood, food and love is a portrait of life at Helen Rebanks' Lake District farmhouse beautifully capturing the unsung work of keeping a home and raising a family. Helen is a farmer, businesswoman, teacher, conservationist and a working mother. Living at her innovative Cumbrian farm, shared with 500 sheep, 50 cattle, 20 chickens, six sheepdogs and two ponies, as well as a husband and four children, Helen tells us honestly, caringly, with no frills attached, about the non-stop work involved in keeping a farm going and raising a family.
