Angela Locke

Tamarisk: Love and War in France

On the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, Angela Locke talks about her 43 year journey to write her latest novel, inspired by research into the final years of World War 2, France’s recovery from Occupation, and interviews with survivors. Tamarisk, seeming indestructible, grows again along the sea margins in Normandy, and symbolises the triumph of love and the human spirit, the major theme of the book.
