Marie-Elsa Bragg

Creative Writing as Pilgrimage

Through the local tales of St Bega, we will explore the art of letter writing, meditation and encountering a character or place to find the unexpected creativity and inner question that often fuels a creative project.

This workshop is open to beginners and those who have written for years. It is also open to painters or those who have a creative project of any kind in mind. It can be taken in its own right or as a useful companion to the earlier workshop ‘Spirituality and Creative writing’ 10-12.30.

Rev Marie-Elsa Bragg is a priest in the Diocese of London, author and broadcaster. Her first novel Towards Mellbreak is a novel about Cumbrian hill farmers living in close to relationship to nature; her second book Sleeping Letters is poetry and prose, facing her mother’s suicide and her recent chapters of Theology are written alongside paintings and sculptures.
